I grew up in the San Luis Obispo area. As an inquisitive young man I loved science, always trying to understand how things worked. I especially was fascinated by biology and technology. I pursued my Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Sonoma State University and then furthered my education by enrolling in a 26 week bootcamp program with Fullstack Academy. Up next I’m launching my career as a software engineer while working on my personal side projects to further my tech skills. When I am not coding, you’ll find me hanging out with my papillon-mix Barley, playing video games Total War Warhammer and Monster Hunter, and hiking the trails near the SLO area.
Created multiple web application and products at my time in Fullstack and after.
Studying as a Biologist at Sonoma State help me advance my critical thinking abilities and gives me a unique perspective in programming.
I have created useful strategies to get tasks done, both during my programming education and at work.
This app allows you to find coffee places in the local area. Just click on one of the red icons on the map page and it will tell you everything you need to know about it. If you liked the coffee shop or just want to say you have been there, just hit the red icon and hit the Conquer tab. Your icon will then turn green and you will have officially conquered it.
Github LinkCreated a Phazer Game in my free time and sense gaming is one of my hobbies that I can do with programs I figured I'd give it a shot. It is a simple game, have your charater collect the stars that are falling and avoid the balls falling on the ground. As you collect more stars, for balls will fall on you until you get hit. Once you get hit it is game over and you have to start over. But don't worry, your high score will be recorded. See if you can beat my high score of 57.

I synthesized DNA CRISPR plasmid for 5 hours per day in laboratory environment. Each plasmid product produced roughly $250-500 per strand depending on the specific purpose for research. I utilized specific software programs for a 2-hour quality assurance check. I packaged 98 plasmids to ensure purification standards were met for client needs. One of the main revenue generating products I worked on produced $12k in monthly revenue for the organization.
I went to Sonoma State University, home of the sea wolves. Fun fact, we got our mascot based on a book "The Sea-Wolf". So unfortunately, a Sea Wolf is not a real animal. I would know I graduated Sonoma State with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. So knowing and understanding animals are kind of my thing.
I took Fullstack Academy seven-month coding boot camp course where I learned how to use HTML, CSS and Javascript together to make a full functional web application. Our language was primarily in Javascript where I learned how to code on both the front-end and back-end of web applications. On the back-end I used Sequalized and postgres to manage my data tables and their relationships together. I created servers using Express and routes like .get, .put, .post, .delete to bring in my data. I was even taught security by hiding passwords and emails using hash&salt methods for login pages. On the front-end I was taught to use React and Axios and to use Webpack to tie in all of my pages together. Furthermore, I was also taught to use Redux so I can use my state outside of my App.js in the form of a store and using Axios to create thunks for the routes I created on the server page. I could go on but I will let my work on Github speak for me. From a guy who never coded before and had work to pay the bills, this bootcamp was hands down the hardest thing I ever did in my life. And it was so worth it.
